In 2004, Greyhound was seeking to create a discounted travel fare for military veterans, active duty, guard, reservists and their family members. Veterans Advantage helped the Greyhound team establish the first bus travel discount for veterans and their families in the nation.

To redeem the discount, Greyhound chose the VetRewards Card as its sole military ID for this fare in Greyhound terminals nationwide. Agents swipe the VetRewards Card into Greyhound’s point of sale system to verify the customer’s military status in real time.
