In 2004, Greyhound was seeking to create a discounted travel fare for military veterans, active duty, guard, reservists and their family members. WeSalute, founded as Veterans Advantage, helped the Greyhound team establish the first bus travel discount for veterans and their families in the nation.

To redeem the discount, Greyhound chose Veterans Advantage's VetRewards Card as its sole military ID for this fare in Greyhound terminals nationwide. Agents swiped the VetRewards Card into Greyhound’s point of sale system to verify the customer’s military status in real time. 

We helped Greyhound promote a 10% Veterans Advantage discount through our reciprocal marketing partnership. And, as Greyhound’s business model evolved to emphasize e-commerce and in-app purchasing, so did their use of our military verification solution with exclusive online savings for military, veterans, and their family members. 

Today, Greyhound customers can book their military fares on Greyhound.com, by phone reservation, in the Greyhound app, and in Greyhound terminals. We market the Greyhound Veterans Advantage discount online in our WeSalute Marketplace. Greyhound markets our discount as its “Military & Veterans” offer on greyhound.com.
